le BEAU Marius

Le Beau Marius is an independent brand of solid wood kitchen utensils and tableware, founded by Jean Calestani and based in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the edge of Paris. It is run by the company Fauchelevent (SASU). Our products are sold on lebeaumarius.com and on Amazon.fr.

Our pieces are made in the European Union, mostly in Poland, by a workshop specialising in solid wood, and engraved with our name. The country of manufacture is stated on every product.

Solid oak (40 × 30, 45 × 30 and 25 × 18 cm boards, knife block, fruit bowl, catchall tray, mug coasters), solid American walnut (31 × 20 cm board with a juice groove), thermo-treated ash (25 × 18 cm board, serving tray, mug coasters) and beech (bottle openers). Thermo-treated ash owes its brown tone to heat alone, with no stain.

No. These are solid wood pieces, with no non-stick coating. Depending on the piece, the finish is a hard wax or an oil approved for food contact, and our products comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 on materials intended to come into contact with food.

Wash it by hand with soapy water and dry it straight away. Never in the dishwasher, never left to soak. As soon as the wood looks dull or dry, apply a thin coat of food-safe oil or wax.

For everyday chopping: the solid oak board 40 × 30 cm, or the thick 45 × 30 × 3 cm board for heavy use. For meat and juicy fruit: the American walnut board 31 × 20 cm, whose groove catches the juices. For cheese, drinks or breakfast: the 25 × 18 cm formats, in oak or thermo-treated ash.

No. Four built-in magnets hold the blade by its flat, never touching the edge. The block takes blades up to 23 cm. It comes without knives: it holds the ones you already own.
